Soggy and soft on the outside millimetre, stiff and like cardboard throughout the rest of the entire of chip. All of the chips. Granted, it was 22.40 but there was still enough time to make fresh fish and chips. The bite hurt my teeth in a metallic and confusing fashion.
The chip portion that came with the curry sauce was a bit small.
The fish was a smaller size than I'm used to for the price and a curious rectangular shape. I was hoping for a fresh large special fish but there didn't seem to be any left. I was disappointed to choose the smaller fish but I was pleasantly surprised to find the small fish cooked in record time... Or, rather, t'was not a freshly cooked haddock at all, but quite the dry marine experience.
Understandably, it's better for profit margins to not waste food so perhaps the poor experience was due to the time of night and a reluctance to serve fresh food that's tendered for nonetheless.
If money's exchanged at any time of day, there should be consistency in quality and freshness.
